Anniedia Sue Yerby Daws

Anniedia Sue (Yerby) Daws, age 88, of Woodville, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 25, 2026. Born and raised in Lawton, Oklahoma, Anniedia was the daughter of John and Emily (Gellner) Yerby. It was there that she met the love of her life, William “Bill” Daws, Jr., with whom she shared 66 devoted years of marriage. As a teenager, Anniedia worked at the local Five and Dime store in the candy department and later worked as a beautician in Las Vegas, Nevada, before eventually making Florida her home. For many years, she worked as an Office Manager at K-Mart in Tallahassee until she retired. Throughout her life, Anniedia embraced hard work, entrepreneurship, and creativity. She owned Woodville’s Country Store, operated A & B Nursery with Bill and sold beautiful floral arrangements, orchids, ferns, etc. to individuals and local businesses. She also met hundreds of people selling Avon, Princess House Crystal, and Mary Kay products over the years. Anniedia had a remarkable gift for creativity and craftsmanship. She spent countless hours hand-painting plates, cups, glasses, and pottery, while also creating beautiful quilts, crocheted afghans, handbags, and many other handmade crafts that became treasured keepsakes for family and friends. She loved going to crafts shows to share her creations with others. Anniedia and Bill shared a love for adventure and travel as longtime members of the Big Bend Airstream Club for 32 years. Together, they enjoyed camping and exploring destinations ranging from Alaska to Mexico, across the United States from Florida to California, to the southern Islands via many cruises and abroad to China and South Korea. A devoted woman of faith, Anniedia was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Woodville (FBCW) for more than 50 years. She loved sharing her time and talents with the various children' activities at FBCW. She loved singing and was a member of the choir for many years. She loved singing specials with Bill and her daughters. She faithfully supported religious and spiritual missions close to her heart and loved sharing the love of Jesus with others. Anniedia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Bill” Daws, Jr., and her sister, Edith Newman. She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her brother, Watson Yerby and wife Betty; her daughters, Belinda Browning and husband Michael, Lynn Hammelman and husband Jimmy, Crystal Fletcher and husband Pat, and Renee Whitsell and husband Patrick; eight grandchildren, Kristina, Michelle, Beth, Erin, Brandy, Jillian, Cleo, and Marina; and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 29th at First Baptist Church Woodville. The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 4:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 4:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow at White Church Cemetery in Woodville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to FBCW Children’s Ministry or the Florida Baptist Children’s Home (www.fbchomes.org).
